HRActive is run by Katie Thorpe, a professional HR Consultant with expertise across a range of public and private sector organisations, including Insurance, social care, housing, museums, retail and NHS.

Katie is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, and has been a member since qualifying in 1986.

She has a BSc in Psychology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Information and Systems.

She is a qualified NVQ Assessor, trained HAY job evaluator and trained to administer and feedback on Saville and Holdsworth psychometric and ability tests, the equivalent of the British Psychological Society level A and B.

She has over 20 years working as a hands-on HR professional and has dealt with the full range of possible issues that can arise in a business.   She has managed many employment tribunals with legal backup and has successfully defended a case without a solicitor.

As well as running HRActive she also runs her own small business, employing 7 people in a social care setting and understands well the pressures on small business managers.
